2022 Site Projects:  The Beginning

2022 is the inaugural year for the LOA Research Station.  The establishment of the foundation and the the acquisition of the land itself is in and of itself a project.  However, there has been a tremendous amount of support by the local arts community in Borrego Springs as well as artists from around the world.  The first artworks created on the land were "oya" pieces make in ceramics to water and give thanks to the land.  Other performance pieces have followed ranging from commentary on the scarring of the land to Feminist environmental videos.  Artist featured in this years line up include:

Yoshimi Hayashi

Allison Beaudry

We have also had art and environment guru Bill Gilbert visit the site to walk and give a read of the land.  Water, permaculture, and astronomy were some topics of discussion during his visit.  Cedra Wood (www.cedrawood.com) renowned painter from New Mexico also can to soak in the beauty of the Anza Borrego Desert.
