"Art Rally", Koumi Kougen Museum/ City/ Okashi Forest, 2017

These works are based on a relationship of human beings to the natural world, be it to nature such as the outdoors or to one’s own natural psychological state.  The words are written with chalk to show the fragility of life, easily erased or marred.  The text references ideas and statements that run through my mind as I navigate through a jumbled world of ideas and space. The words challenge my state of being and often change my perception of the world.  In the end, I am ultimately faced with the fact that the areas that have no writing is the most valuable part of the paintings.  Each empty space had a relationship with a physical space somewhere outside the walls of the museum and in the Koumi town and landscape.  The viewers were  therefore encouraged (map provided) to leave the false reality of the painting and visit the truthful space.  In doing so, the search ultimately lead to a reframing and a deeper investigation of the surroundings.
